Luego de 23 años, la directora retoma archivos que filmó en cintas análogas y plantea un juego de miradas donde construye una reflexión en varios tiempos: la vida de su abuelo, que emigró en los años 20 a Europa; el presente de las personas que envían mensajes a sus seres queridos con su anhelo de regresar a sus territorios en Marruecos, Palestina, Colombia, India; y el texto mítico de un joven ghanés que naufraga en el Mediterráneo antes de llegar a su destino. La película sobrevuela la ciudad de Vic en Cataluña entre la niebla, los mataderos de cerdos, castillos humanos y la idealización del “país de los blancos” que se agrieta poco a poco.
