El asesinato en 1948 del líder popular Jorge Eliécer Gaitán desata la violencia en el campo colombiano. Se forman guerrillas que tras la fachada de la lucha partidista pelean también por el dominio de las tierras. “Canaguaro” comanda uno de estos grupos. Su historia es igual a la de miles de colombianos¸ sobrevivientes de ataques a sus familias. De su vida y la de sus amigos sabemos a través del recorrido en busca de unas armas que el partido les ha prometido y que nunca les serán entregadas. Son llamados al orden y a la reconciliación y¸ finalmente¸ asesinados.
